Be part of the team
Pixelsurgeon survives on the lifeblood of its contributors who make sure that the site is full of news, reviews, features and interviews. And if you've ever wanted to be a contributor, now’s your chance.
Nobody gets paid for helping out with Pixelsurgeon, we all do it for the love of the creative and the bizarre, and a desire to see Pixelsurgeon go from strength to strength as a respected online arts magazine. However, regular contributors do get their own space in the Contributor Index, so people can find out more about you.
As Pixelsurgeon grows and expands, there are more and more opportunities for people to contribute in different ways. In particular, we are looking for:
US-based Movie Reviews Editor
Often movies are released in the US ahead of other territories, but we want to get the scoop as soon as possible, so we're looking for someone based in NYC or LA who can liaise with the distributors and PR companies, attend movie premieres and get top class movie reviews on Pixelsurgeon before anyone else!
US-based Movie Reviewers
We need you at the front of the queue, armed with a bag of popcorn and a critical eye!
Games Reviews Editor
The Games Review Editor will liaise with games producers, publishers and distributors to organise review copies of games, working closely with the core editorial team. The editor will be in charge of ensuring that games are forwarded to reviewers, reviews are well-written, accurate, spell-checked and produced on time!
Games Reviewers
If you have a desire to write and thumb muscles to match, we want to hear from you!
Book Reviews Editor We often get swamped with review copies of books, but just don’t have the time to fit them into our busy schedule. If you’d like to deal with the publishers and bring Pixelsurgeon’s book reviews up to the same level as our music and movie reviews, drop us a line!
Book Reviewers We review a wide variety of publications from fiction, non-fiction, books on software and coding, art books, and more!
Other review vacancies We also review exhibitions, gigs, hardware, software... in fact, pretty much everything. So if you want to review something that's not covered in this list, we still want to hear from you!
Interviewers Pixelsurgeon has gained an enviable reputation for our in-depth interviews with artists, musicians, designers, illustrators, typographers and film-makers. Whether you think you have what it takes to interview someone face-to-face, over the phone or via email, you’ll find a warm welcome at Pixelsurgeon.
Behind the scenes Researchers, sub editors and editorial assistants are all required to make sure Pixelsurgeon runs smoothly.
Contributors In general, after four or five published submissions, people are invited to become Pixelsurgeon Contributors, with their own page on Pixelsurgeon and a Pixelsurgeon email address forwarded to an email address of their choice.
If you wish to submit a review or interview for consideration, please check out our contributions guidelines.
